He also wrote columns and articles in the magazines like KISMAT, JYOTIRVIGYAN and some others. He have also wrote some articles/columns with the pen name of "SANYASI" as well. He have also wrote some short story books which were given by the KISMAT magazine (running that time by Mr. Ushakant Pandya) as the yearly gift to the readers of the same.

As he conquered a lot of awards and gratitudes during his entire life. But "Shri Kanaiyalal Munshi Award" he have recieved (in 1989-1990, as per my best memory) is must to mention. As Late Shri K. M. Munshi is unbeatable writer when the Gujarati writers are mentioned. Me and my sister always love re-reading of the novels by Shri K. M. Munshi. He was having exceptional style of exploring characters and events in his novels. And in the very beginning of Late Shri Harilal Upadhyay's career, he got the blessings of Smt. Leelavati Munshi (wife of Shri K. M. Munshi) and she forcasted that this person (Late Shri Harilal Upadhyay) have potential within, and he will definitely become a remarkable Gujarati Author. And Late Shri Harilal Upadhyay have prooved that the faith was not wrong. This award is very special due to this memory also.

Late Shri Harilal Upadhyay was not only the Great Author but also a Great Astrologer. He recieved the famed "JYOTIRVIGYAN SANSHODHAN AWARD" from the golden hands of late Shri Pandurang Shashtriji (popular in the world with the name "Dada", the founder of the SWADHYAY PARIWAR).

In order to pay respect to Late Shri Harilal Upadhyay, Gram Panchayat - Paddhari have named the paniyari street (where he lived his years of earlier childhood and some years of his youth) as "Swargiya Harilal Upadhyay Marg" (Late Harilal Upadhyay Road). It shows how respected citizen he was, in his hometown.
